We're excited to introduce a powerful new feature to Ally: Ally Voice Customization. Now you can go beyond choosing a voice and truly shape how your Ally sounds, making every interaction feel even more personal and natural.

This is a direct response to feedback from our community, and it's built to address the unique needs of people who are blind or have low vision. We believe this feature is a significant step toward making Ally the most accessible AI assistant available.

Your Ally, Your Way

For people who are blind or have low vision, the quality and character of an audio response can make a huge difference. A voice that is too fast, too low, or has an unnatural tone can be difficult to follow and frustrating to use. This feature allows you to control the very essence of how Ally communicates with you.

With Ally Voice Customization, you can fine-tune:

• Tone: Choose a professional tone for work tasks or a warm, friendly tone for casual conversations.
• Pitch: Adjust the pitch to be higher, lower, or just right for your ears, ensuring clarity and comfort.
• Emotion: Give your Ally a specific emotional quality, whether it's calm, excited, or thoughtful. This can be especially helpful for long-form content or when you need a little encouragement.
• Accent & Speed: Describe any regional accent or adjust the pace of speech, from slow and deliberate to quick and energetic. This is crucial for matching a voice to your personal preference and comprehension speed.

For example, a user with low vision might ask Ally to describe their surroundings. By customizing the voice, they can ensure the description is delivered with a calm, deliberate pace in a pitch that's easy to hear, helping them feel more confident and less rushed. Or, when reading a long document, a user could set the speed to a slightly slower rate for better retention and comfort.
